Persuasion is Austen's last published novel. She began writing the novel after Emma's novel was finished, finishing it in August 1816. Austen died in 1817 at the age of 41. But this novel was not published until 1818. Persuasion is related to another novel by Jane, her novel Northanger Abbey, not because they were originally published together In one book, but both novels are set in Bath, where Austen lived from 1801 to 1805.
